Preemie Hat

Materials

1 ball TLC Cotton Plus (will make many)  

1 pair size 5 needles

2 size 5 double pointed needles for I cord top  

Brim

Cast on 50 sts

Row 1 RS* P2 K4 repeat from * end P2

Row 2 * K2 P4 from * end K2

Repeat 2 rows for rib for 1”

Work in garter stitch for 2”

Shape Crown

Decrease row 1 (RS) K1 * K2 together; repeat from * end K1

Knit 1 row

Decrease row 2 (RS) K1 * K2 together; repeat from * to end

Knit 1 row

Next row repeat decrease row 1

Next row (WS) K2 together; repeat from * to end

Cord Top

Change to double pointed needle and work 1 cord as follows; * next row (RS) K5, do
not turn work

Slide STS to beginning of needle to work next row

From RS repeat from * until I cord measures 1”

Last row pass the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th sts over the first st. fasten off last st.

Finishing

Sew back seam. Weave in ends
